SIS students recently experienced an unforgettable journey through Singapore, filled with cultural immersion, scientific exploration and fun-filled adventures in their Study Tour of the Lion City!
Day 1: Touchdown in the Lion City
Landing at the world renowned Singapore Changi Airport, students were greeted by the awesome sight of the massive “Coming Home” sculpture by Chinese artist, Han Meilin. A city tour followed, showcasing Singapore’s harmonious blend of modern architecture, multi-cultural heritage and beautiful lush greenery in the Garden City
Day 2: Unveiling the Treasures of Kampong Glam
The colourful streets of Kampong Glam provided interesting architectural insight into the Muslim area with its heritage shophouses filled with fabric shops that have existed for many decades as well as interesting aromas from the many food shops in this area. Students viewed the stately Sultan Mosque which offered a glimpse into the spiritual heart of the community.
The dinner highlight was Indian cuisine and our students were delighted to try the various dishes with flavors.
Day 3: Where Imagination Runs Wild
Universal Studios Singapore was a whirlwind of excitement! SIS Students enjoyed some of the thrilling rides and interesting performances in this huge theme park!
Day 4: Igniting a Passion for Science and Wonder
The Singapore Science Centre sparked curiosity in our students with hands-on exhibits and interactive displays, transforming complex scientific concepts into engaging experiences. We ended the day with an evening light and music show at the Marina Barrage by Gardens by the Bay. The students watched in wonder as the night sky was filled with a cacophony of colours and wonderful music.
Day 5 & 6: Unveiling the City’s Tapestry
The final days of the Study Tour took students on a lovely journey through Singapore’s urban landscape. They explored Chinatown’s bustling streets, uncovering a rich cultural heritage and vibrant community spirit. At the LTA SG Mobility Gallery, students had a peek into what makes Singapore’s world-renowned transportation system tick The URA City Gallery offered a bird’s-eye view of Singapore’s remarkable transformation, showcasing visionary planning and architectural ingenuity that have shaped the city’s skyline.
Our successful the Singapore Study Tour deepened our students’ understanding of this dynamic city-state, fostering a love of lifelong learning , a spirit of adventure and opened their eyes to a world of cultural diversity and exploration!
