Extra-Curricular

Singapore International School provides a range of after-school activities designed to develop and build on student’s interests and talents.

These activities start from 3:40 p.m. for Kindergarten 1 to Year 4 International and from 4:15 p.m for the rest (Tuesdays to Thursdays). The range of activities varies each term. A small fee is charged to cover the costs of running the after-school activities programme.

    Vietnamese Language Club

    Help students to improve their Vietnamese language proficiency through speaking and reviewing vocabulary and grammar.

    Students can complete homework and review school work with assistance.

    Students will learn Maths in fun and improve their Maths skills. The main benefit is the learning experience and supportive environment provided to the students.

    Vietnamese Culture Club promotes an interest in Vietnamese culture and community service as well as provides students with opportunities to form friendships with other students through fun activities.

    Music relaxes and refreshes one’s thoughts and feelings, especially if you’re playing one of the stringed instruments.

    Shadow Play

    Shadow play is consisted of 3 plays: 

    1 Puppet play – played by sticks and cardboards but voices are heard

    2 Hand shadow play – played by hands with/without voices heard

    3 Shadow acting – the person acts or make an image and they interpret the song

    These activities improve our creativity or even develop cognition.

    ICT - Minecraft

    ICT –  Minecraft

    Minecraft is a unique 3D world-building game where students work together and, using 3D blocks, they can build practically anything imaginable. Minecraft is unique because, unlike other games, it has no beginning and no end – students just continue to build, and build, and build.  The focus is on simply being creative and what the students can build freely while learning about digital citizenship, communication, collaboration and teamwork.

    Students learn more about culture, art in general by doing and making items. It is an excellent way to relax and also offer students an opportunity to express their creativity.

    Frisbee

    Frisbee

    Frisbee is a great sport, it combines skills of hand eye co-ordination, athleticism, and teamwork into a non-contact, self-refereed sport that can be played on most surfaces with minimal equipment. It is the ideal sport for students because it is exciting, inclusive and easy to play while also teaching children respect and responsibility through the Spirit of the game.
