World Read Aloud Day (KIK)

World Read Aloud Day motivates children, teens, and adults worldwide to celebrate the power of words and creates a community of readers taking action to show the world that the right to literacy belongs to all people. It is celebrated by millions of people in more than 100 countries thanks to people like you who participate and spread the word across the globe!

To get excited for World Read Aloud Day 2017, on 8 March, our KIK team made it a point to celebrate this event in a joyous and exciting day. Teachers and students wore their beautiful pajamas and slippers. Students brought their favorite stuffed toys. Our team was able to gather 11 wonderful volunteers (moms, dads and grandparents) to read to our students.  Teachers and co-teachers were busy decorating their windows and hallway to add to the celebration.

Students from different levels in KIK enjoyed listening to stories that were being read by our wonderful volunteers.  A sweet morning greeting from each class as the volunteers entered their respective classrooms and a big thank you chant when they left, expressed the appreciation and joy from our students.

Fahasa Book Store had a book display the day before the event and also on the day with a variety of books and it was well supported by our wonderful students, parents and staff.

From the bottom of our hearts, the KIK team and Ms. Marianne would like to say thank you to all our volunteers for their continued support. You are all awesome!!!
